Question by : How To Remove Black Borders in Final Rendering of Sony Vegas 9?
Every time I render a movie in highest 720p HD I end up with black borders on the side. I’ve seen many other without black borders, and I’ve tried tutorials but they haven’t helped.

If someone could give me either step by step instructions or a video tutorial that works, ill award 10 points.

Answer by Zap
When you render the video, theres an option at the bottom of the render window that says: Stretch video to fill output frame size(Do not letterbox)
Check that box. This will take away the black boarder.
If you still have trouble you can email me and I’ll make you a tutorial :)

How do people get those cool borders and photo effects when they post iPhone photos to twitter?
I’ve noticed a lot of cool pictures with cool borders posted from iPhone to twitter and was wondering how people get those borders….. Is there a really good app or something?! Please help!!!! I’ve been looking everywhere!

iPhones, as well as other smart phones, are small computers. As such, there is software available to do just about everything with them, including photo editing. Simply edit the photo before you post it. The first application in the following list is probably what you are looking for. I’ve also included a small list of some very nice free photo editing software just in case.
* Search for the software in itunes

Photo Card Studio ($ 1.99): Make the most of your photo library! Combine multiple photos, text and maps into professional and original photo cards. Create invitations, photo collages, e-cards, holiday cards, christmas cards, website graphics and newsletter pictures. Use them offline or send them right away to your friends and family. You can now even send them to your printer directly with Air Print or share them with one click to facebook, twitter or tumblr. Endless creative combinations possible: more than 25 different frames with up to 9 photos in one card combined with several different high resolution borders and the photo’s you took yourself.

Crop for Free: Crop for Free does exactly what the title implies. It crops photos. For free. While there are a few apps in this list that will crop your shots as well, none are as quick and easy as Crop for Free when all you need is a quick crop.

Pixel Perfect: Free for a limited time or be bound by the constraints of the Lite version. It allows you to apply a variety off effects to your pics including sepia, brightness, saturation and hue, and adjust the intensity of relevant effects.

PhotoBox: This app is easy to use and it features 13 awesome filters that result in some terrific photo effects, again with zero effort on your part.

PanoLab: PanoLab Pro allows you to stitch together multiple photos to create a single panoramic image. This version has several limitations and its UI isn’t as intuitive as other options, but for the occasional quick panorama it’s a perfectly usable app.

Polarize: This app allows you to take a new photo or import an existing image, frame it in a Polaroid-like white border and apply a polarizing effect that results in a cool retro look. You can also write a title across the bottom of the frame as your parents used to do with physical Polaroids.

Hope it helps.

Border post manned by men from Landsturm Infanterie Bataillon ‘Wesel’ (VII 17), September 1916

Letter on reverse authored at Heidelberg Erzg. on 8.9.1916. No postmarks etc.

Possibly some kind of border post manned by these fellows from Landsturm Infanterie Bataillon ‘Wesel’. These men are located just a couple of kilometres from the (then) Bohemian border, now Czechoslovakia.

The men wear the M1913 Wachstuchmütze, although this overexposed photograph tends to make the caps look slightly like the M1914 variant. M1907/10 (or 1913) tunics with M1909 ammunition pouches.

Armament consists of Beutegewehr, or captured Russian Mosin-Nagant M91s.

How do you make website borders show on Firefox?

Sunday, February 5th, 2012

Question by chachafance: How do you make website borders show on Firefox?
I make Myspace layouts (html/css) and the borders show fine in IE but I just started to use Firefox and the borders won’t show up at all in Firefox! Why is this?

Is there a certain way borders should be coded in Firefox?

For example, here’s what I used for 2 borders in my css:

BORDER-RIGHT:cc0099 10px solid;
BORDER-TOP:cc0099 10px solid;

But when the page is opened with Firefox, the borders don’t show up at all!
I don’t have the # in front of the color because with MYSPACE it won’t show up, and it shows is as an error. With MYSPACE you have to put the color without the #.

So no, I DONT mean #cc0099!

Best answer:

Answer by BillH
Don’t you mean:

border-right: #cc0099 10px solid;
border-top: #cc0099 10px solid;

Don’t forget the “#”. IE lets you get away with sloppy definitions. Firefox won’t. On the other hand, Firefox is much more standards compliant than IE. Things happen the way you expect them to in Firefox.

When I’m web designing, I always make it look right in Firefox and then see what happens in IE (it’s usually a mess that I need to put a number of CSS and HTML hacks in place to look right).

What do you think? Answer below!

LoHou Border Crossing

Image by Carolinadoug
Taken from my hotel room on the 19th floor of the Shangri-La. This is a very busy border crossing between Hong Kong (background of the photo) and the city of Shenzhen in mainland China.

The main Shenzhen train station is on the right. The Hong Kong MTR rail line terminates at the brown building. The Shenzhen subway system is underneath the walkway down the center. On the left is an enormous shopping mall. This is where you go to buy any knock off product, bootleg movie, and software package you could imagine. It is very crowded and hot so the experience is unpleasant to say the least.

See where this picture was taken. [?]

Border Beach

Image by hey skinny
You can see people meeting, playing at the fence. I’m think, though not sure, that some people may have been moving between the two sides down there, digging (for clams?) with a shovel.

There was a border truck constantly watching from just out of the shot, so maybe people to test the waters and see how far they can go…

Also, this park is busy with Mexican and American nationals coming go pass money and gifts through the fence, so there is no exchange fee such as 10% with western union for transfer and currency exchange, etc… Though I’ve heard since moving away from San Diego, that the new border fence will prevent this. I’m not sure that’s a good thing.
